First one's used also stamped 3154, is there a # on the one you have?
Second link is an NOS pair of 4243's w/ # listing on box end as pic below but 3154 not listed?

I now have my answer for certain. Hot Rod's October 1973 muffler test lists a 2.5 inch diameter round Thrush muffler. Now if only I could find a pair for sale that I can afford....
