Default Classifieds Enhancements/Changes

Classifieds Enhancements/ Changes UPDATED 6/24/21 Note new information is underlined

Membership Levels:
Contributing Member annual dues are $30. This membership includes 30 classified ads total per year, including 2 vehicle ads. Once you post a classified you can’t add additional items after initial listing. You can edit your listing for correction or clarification.
Premier Member annual dues are $60 This membership includes 60 classified ads total per year, including 2 vehicle ads. Once you post a classified you can’t add additional items after initial listing. You can edit your listing for correction or clarification.
Advertising Member annual dues are $125. This membership includes 125 classified ads total per year, including 3 vehicle ads. Once you post a classified you can’t add additional items after initial listing. You can edit your listing for correction or clarification.

Noted changes:
• The originator of the ad can bump their ad after 10 days. The bump icon is only viewable by the originator.. If you select the bump icon prior a prompt will show the remaining day until a bump can be executed. See Illustration below.
• The originator of the ad can now mark an item sold. The sold icon is only viewable by the originator. If you select the sold icon it is moved to a sold archive folder, so only active ads are viewed. The sold archive folder is viewable and used as a historical record. See Illustration below.
• Members can post a comment on other members ads, and no longer inadvertently bump ads. In the past we discouraged commenting but that is no longer an issue. Members posting on other ads should contain questions seeking information
and as always no bashing due to price. If something is mis-advertised pm a moderator.
• Classifieds threads will now have a photo. This photo is the first photo the originator uploads.

User CP (Control Panel) New Features
• There is a new option at the bottom Sales Threads. If you select that icon it will show all you past and present sales threads you’ve originated. It’s a handy feature when searching for items you’ve sold.
• There is now a sales post indicator at the top of the Sales Thread screen, which displays the # of sales threads you’ve posted/used and the total originally available based on your membership level. The illustration shows I’ve used 28 out of
30. I have two sales post left.

**Adding classified ads. If you run out of classified ad posting, you can purchase a new membership (Contributing 30 ads, Premier 60 ads or Advertising 125 ads) your old membership
will be canceled without refund of any remaining time. A new membership will start, with as selected classified posting privileges along with new anniversary date. The cost of an ad is still $1””

***The above memberships are offered to non-commercial entities***

Sponsorships are available to Commercial Entities. We have many options and features that can be configured to meet your budgetary and promotional requirements. More details such as levels and options are located in the Sponsor Forum. Sponsors can place 5 adds per day (unlimited if listing in your exclusive forum). Sponsors can bump their ads every 3 days in the general classified forum. Vehicle classified ad total listings vary based on the selected metal package.

As always I appreciate your support and look forward to our latest feature My Garage & Journey to launch following this implementation. The changes are newly implemented and if you have questions or encounter issues, please PM or email [email protected] and I will try to address expeditiously.

Illustrations below:

*First picture illustrates the ad originators Mark Sold & Bump icons

*Second picture illustrates the sale ad status counter located under UserCP (Control Panel) in the Sales Thread option.

*Third picture illustrates all Sales Threads you originated, both present and past.

Best regards,

Thanks for the feedback, and glad you like the changes. If anyone has a question or and issue, please PM me. If the changes seem stable and no issues we will be working on our next enhancement My Garage & Journey that I think will be something special. Well I hope so

Keep up the great work STEVE
I like this idea of seeing what I have left.
Attached is a photo to help out.
I went to my "User CP" and simply pressed "Sales Threads"

The scope of this project grew because we wanted it to be user friendly and keep you informed. I will use your picture illustrating the sales ad status counter because it's much better than mine.

All the forums sort by Post Date, except for the new classified ones. The dates are all over. I can manually sort by date, but it's a one-time thing. I have to do it again for every classified forum. ??

Classifieds should work as follows:

*Classified ads in original date posted order (newest to oldest).
*If the originator bumps, the bump date replaces the original post date and it's moved to the top of listing.

I think what you are seeing members / originators posting on a thread and bumping it to the top, prior to implemented the new coding to prevent this. Again the only scenario where an ad should return to the top is if it's bumped by originator (after 10 date wait period). Posting on the thread by anyone should not bump the ad.

Kurt I will look into this and confirm the implementation is working as designed.......

If could make a suggestion Steve? How about a Classified Section for (DoND) Deal or No Deal? That would allow some of us to post rare parts for consideration of offers from other members or to post obscure stuff that really needs to be sold according to market rates. It then allows people to make offers where sellers can simply state Deal or No Deal on the offers?

It's working really well on other collector forums and FB groups and I think it would work really well here too. I know I have some parts I am attached to and would like to sell, but fear putting a price on because some will think it's priced too high. Allowing offers really puts the market in control of that and helps to lessen the haste of overpricing an item where now the seller can see what the market will bear instead of appearing overly greedy? It also allows people to bring out some great high-end and rare parts to see who'd step up on it, and doesn't pressure them to sell it if the money isn't right?

What sayeth the group?
