This 66 Nova has a 355ci small block backed by a Richmond 6 speed. It was a regular at the Super Chevy Show in Joliet so it was good to see this car still looked as good as it did 10 years prior. R. Watson owned it.

This 53 Studebaker Commander had a 383ci small block with TBI and a 4L60E. Being from the South Bend area and having a large Studebaker Club in the area I've seen quite a few of these cars over the years so it was kind of fun to see people walk up to this car and say, "What is this?"

Here are some drag car pictures from the same event. The "Shake Rattle & Run" 57 Bel Air is powered by a 632 with a bunch of nitrous. It runs high 6's at over 200 mph. This car has been a race car most of it's life. It was raced as a gasser in the 60's and early 70's. The first time I saw it was at the Super Chevy Sunday in Indy in the early 80's. By that time it had a full tube frame and was powered by an injected big block on nitrous and ran in the 8's. It was updated to the current configuration in '07 or so.

Randy Lambert's 67 Impala ran at the first couple of Fastest Street Car Races in Memphis in the early 90's. He also raced with the Chicago Outlaw Super Stocks at the time. This car was featured in Hot Rod, Super Chevy and Popular Hot Rodding in the 90's. The car was parked for a number of years before being brought out again. This was the first time I had ever seen it in person. It currently has a 632 on nitrous with a Lenco trans. It was running in the low 9's, but they're hopping for low 8's once it's sorted out.

This 73 Corvette had a big block and was running in 10.20's. I have a picture of this car from the Chevy Vette Fest in '03 so it's been around for awhile. I also saw it racing at Joliet several times in the past. Since I hadn't been to Joliet in 10 years it was neat seeing some of these cars that I hadn't seen in awhile.

This is Tony Cook's 66 Nova. He runs with the Pro E85 group which is a bunch of guys from the Chicago area who run on E85. I don't know what this car has for motivation, but it was running 10.00's.
