Damn, I’d watch their show and listen to their music for years.

RIP Mr. Nesmith.

I was wondering why I kept hearing their music on the radio today. Must have been tributes. Some of their music was pretty good.
Too many people we grew up with passing the last couple years. Makes me feel old.

My favorite Monkee. I’m a big fan and after watching the Monkees in syndication as a kid in the 70’s, I saw them in concert 6 or 7 times 1986-2021, the last time here in Seattle with the Mickey and Mike show in September 2021. Mike was visibly frail, spoke slowly and didn’t play guitar as he had in 2019 shows. However, he was about as happy to be in the presence of Monkees fans as he’d ever been, and I think it was a great way to wrap up his time on earth. He had family and friends in the touring band, and a rotating audience of adoring fans to thank him for his accomplishments. He leaves a big legacy in songwriting, video (MTV, Repo Man, etc) and of course his Mom invented Liquid Paper. Variety posted a good overview/obit: https://variety.com/2021/music/news/...es-1235130849/

Yep. I saw Neil years ago and he did a group of songs that he wrote, that were made famous by other performers. I'm a Believer was one of them. Neil was quite the song writer.
