Default And then...

Some things are well worth revisiting, and since it is the Holiday Season, allow me to share this stellar piece of written artistry from our good friend A12pilot:

T'was the night before MCACN, and all through the hotel,
Everyone was at happy hour, with many a story to tell.

The cars were in piling in, the sight made me stop and stare.
While my lovely wife gasped, “Help! I need some fresh air!!”

The men were all drunk, snuggled up to the bar.
With visions of COPOs, Shelbys, and even a Hemi Mopar.

As we all retired for the night, our stories all told.
We were all so excited about the site we were about to behold.

The alarm goes off and I blast out of my snooze,
My head pounding and I think, “Man that was a lot of booze.”

Texts blast out to Phil, Mike and Grady
No reply so I ponder, “Uh-Oh....are they at the show without me?!?”

I rush out the door, on a mission like soldier ants.
When I hear a soft voice scream, “For cripes sake put on some pants!!”

Across the sky bridge, 'round the corner and down stairs.
We get to the entrance and are greeted by stoic stares.

”Can we help you?”, The cops say with hands on their holsters.
“Here's my ticket, let me in, and this is the girl on the poster!”

”Go away sir, that show has already moved out.”
“I think the next show here explains what yarn is all about”

The one thing I look forward to all year, I missed
But I look down and see a tag around my wrist.

I'm suddenly awakened, my eyes start to focus.
I'm coming to and mumble, “Hey, what's up with all the ruckus?”

Everyone staring, so I ask, “What's the matter?”
A reply comes in, “You slipped on the soap, dork, and fell in the shower.”

I didn't miss the show! It was all luckily a spoof.
I hear Bob say to Vicki, ”Ya know, that boy really is a big friggin' goof“

Bob looks at his watch, tells us it's time to leave.
Turning towards us he says, “But wait! I have something else up my sleeve!”

With a wave of his arm, we're all at the show.
I question with excitement , “Hey where did Bob go?”

Riding the rafters, he lets out a bellow.
Which every car guys stops to hear the from this fine fellow

”On Dodger, on Charger, on Cutlass, on Corvette!”
“Fire up the Hemi, big block Olds, Camaros, and even that blown Chevette!”

“Bask in the show, and have no fear!”
“Merry MCACN to all, be sure to register for next year!”

Thanks Dave...your talents are only surpassed by the hotness of your wife.

Haha! Ah, the Christmas Ode de MCACN. Perhaps a movie, or animated special at least is in order! We’ll have to get the production team on it!

Looking forward to seeing everyone next year for sure. Something was a miss this year, and the void of not attending MCACN was it.

Merry Christmas gang.

Cheers
Dave & Kelly
