Default Wind storm damages cars at Mecum Auction

A pretty bad storm blew through the Harrisburg, PA area and blew down a couple of the auction car tents. Quite a few cars were damaged by the tent poles coming down on them. Videos of the aftermath are showing up on YouTube. :-(

Those dang EZ ups: you see a bunch of those wadded up and stuck in the trash after every race weekend.

Pretty sure it was Russo Steele. BJ circled the wagons and no damage?

Looking at the damage, it appears to be more than just an easy up. The huge poles they use to erect the tent must have caused most of the damage. Must have been some strong winds. They just fell on the cars in the way. Saw some roofs and rear windows with significant damage.

I wonder how they handle that with the car owners?

^^My Uncle Bought a 1950 Low rider at the AZ Russo auction.
A pole Wiped out the Hood.
Per his story He owned the Car soon as the Gavel dropped & it is my understanding the auction Co brought in all manner of insurance reps. I think it went something like. When he registered as a bidder he had to show proof of insurance on a regular owned driver car, it was this company whom provided the coverage to the winner of a actioned car, thus YOU were immediately covered by virtue of YOUR existing coverage. The hood repair was COVERED by my uncle existing coverage.
Hood got repaired. Done.

Correct, and correct. Some of the tent stuff from the Russo Steele auction ended up out on the Loop 101 freeway. I went to the Silver Auction at Fort McDowell the following day and their tent supplier had a whole lot of workers there making sure their tents were still secure after the storm.

169Indy, glad to hear your uncle's car got repaired successfully. I remember there was a whole lot of confusion/controversy over just who was responsible for the damaged vehicles. What a shame.
