Re: SOLD my 1969 SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan
Good lookin' motor with all that aluminum up on top! Hey......where's the aluminum water pump at? I've always loved the Gold Moroso valve covers, they're considered nostalgic to my generation and many bad-ass, fast Rat Motors always seemed to have them! I've had my share of them and they do tend to leak a bit sometimes because the aluminum distorts slightly when the bolts are tightened. Stock or aftermarket tabs really help 'em out!

Re: SOLD my 1969 SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan
I hope your close Dan but I'm not too sure about the whole numbers thing on the dyno. I think the real test will be at the track.
Mark, we do have a set of the aftermarket tabs for the valve covers, they weren't on yet. A friend of mine that lived down the street when I was growing up had a '70 Chevelle with a 427 +.125 and 13.5 to 1 slugs. He had those valve covers on his motor which was back in the late 70's early 80's. I thought they would look somewhat correct plus I needed them to clear the stud girdle. |

Re: SOLD my 1969 SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan
We got the motor on the dyno. With the set up that I have, let's just say, the motor ran very well. Thanks to everyone and your input. It helped me out a lot.
I do "hope" to have it in the car and running tomorrow but....we'll see. I can't wait to drive the car with this motor! Here is my engine builder on Friday checking things out. Kurt |

What are the specs on the motor (bore & stroke, cubic inches etc...)? What kind of power and torque did it put out?
