I’ve used Battery Tender on all my cars for years without any problems.

I can tell you do not use a Harbor freight bought one. I had one on my 55. I unplugged it one day closed the hood. When I turned the key the battery exploded. It was loud and made a big mess. It left a perfect dent in the hood the shape of the battery cap. I use battery tenders now and no issue. Larry

Just disconnect the battery and let it sit. Charge it in the spring.
I don't even disconnect the battery!

I used to just put a charger on a couple times a year, the batteries lasted alot longer back then. Maybe the batteries are crap now days.
No stabil either, only one year I used that garbage, swelled my acc pump.

I quit using stabil 20 years ago and went to Sea Foam. Never had an issue with any fuel system component since. I ONLY run non-oxy gas in all my carburetor engines, including lawn/yard care. I haven't had a carburetor apart in 20 years...

My mechanic just rebuilt the carb before the stabil snafu. He said, why are you using it. He’s rite, after storing the same car with nothing in the gas fir 35 years, why start now. Lol
All my small engines I just run the gas out before stg.
Now in the spring, I’ll run that old gas out before filling up.

I bought a Deltran battery tender from 4wheelonline last year. It has a decent price and keeps my battery in good health.

I use the tenders to charge the batteries 2 or 3 times over the winter. All the restoration style batteries I have bought tells you in the paperwork to not use battery tenders. As far as fuel I rarely use any stabil type additive but I do try to make sure they have aviation fuel in them before I store them. They say it keeps forever unlike pump gas, standard pump gas kills my accelerator pumps not to mention it looses it strength over time.
