----Tri-Power Automotive is a known business. They did a bit of work on Red Alert back in the early to mid 90's. They should be able to verify all that is stated in the add, and I think they are good guys, although I haven't heard much about them in a while....Bill S

Astock,

Thank you for the reload.

I have seen this ‘64 shown a couple times over the years and have my doubts, especially with this advertised mileage.

Many items are incorrect.
1) It has a 1965 horn bar and center cap.
2) Wrong carb linkage on both sides.
3) 1964 bell housing did not have an inspection shield like this one is fitted for.
4) The chrome 1964 oil fill cap had “trapezoid” breather holes on the bottom.
This cap has round holes, wrong.

If I were able to view the aluminum Data Plate on the firewall it may provide more clues.
Only the very early ‘64 had the blank chrome valve cover on LH side, so I need a build date. The majority had a round vent tube hole with a rubber plug.

BTW, crank pulleys and balancers were painted engine color.

Below is a 1965 steering wheel, horn bar and center cap.
Also a 1964 oil fill cap shown below that does not have crimps around the parameter and has the correct Trapezoid breather holes.

Hi Mr. Wente,

Doing my errands this morning (Lowe’s, Total Wine and In-N-Out).

For your response to my post I present this.

Take care in that serious weather.

Bill,

Sorry to hear that.
A very good friend of mine that still lives in my hometown of Springfield, Illinois text me this morning saying he is a little scared about the tornado potential and his neighbor has a basement waiting for him if all hell breaks loose.

Of all the different types of destructive storms I have always felt the big twisters have an evil about them.

Good luck to everyone.
