I am awed by this restoration. Fantastic work!

I only started posting 45 days ago but actually started tearing the car down and restoring misc pieces back in in November shortly after bringing the car home. I did not want to make a post and then go a month with very little additions so I waited until I had many photos and work completed before I started posting to keep the interest alive. Jamie has only been working on the body since early August but with 5-6 people on it at any given time. They have made massive progress in a very short amount of time due to the magazine deadline. I have not added their TTD hours up yet but approximately 1100 on body and paint and another 650 give or take on our end doing chassis, drivetrain and all the misc restored parts. Annie and I usually put in at least 20 hours most weekends. What are nights and weekends for?

Anybody that says they can restore a car for $60k is using spray cans and a catalog! I have more invested in this car at this point than 90% of my customers do with a finished car. Mainly due to the high cost of NOS parts (not to mention wheels and tires) and the time to locate them.

Thank you for the explanation. Much respect for you and your team! Like many, I can’t wait to see the finished product.

Rick...you and Annie have taken us on a spectacular ride during this restoration. The workmanship is outstanding and seeing the product in person will make it that much more special.

Rick,

Now looking back.....it was a good thing that all your pictures were erased....as you now have made this thread even better....your pictures are way better the second time.

You made a Bad Outcome into a Very Good One....well done!

Dan

Agree this thread is twice as nice now.

I like the ones showing the huge hole in the quarter panel. I love the hole story :/)
