I remember the VIN being stamped way over to the left side of the pad, almost off the block entirely. The car was an early build with a vin sequence of 108490 (Nov or Dec 65) and I think Willow Run assy plant. If I can round up some old camera shots I can post them. I even found the build sheet under the drivers side carpet when I installed new carpet in around 1986.

The ones I've seen from the Willow Run plant were not gang stamped, and stamped in the same manner.

I see some slight differences in all three but I'm blind anyway, so who's to say! The vins do appear to be hand stamped but are a lot straighter then the Willow Run stamps I've seen, they're all over the place!
Here's another Norwood block I've had under a bench for 30 years and I know hasn't been messed with. Thought for sure December 14, 1965 was going to be a Monday as the stamper left off the last digit of the vin but turns out it was a Tuesday. |

I am trying to learn the differences between factory stamping and restamping, something I have zero knowledge of. The photo I submitted comes from a car that is currently for sale where the seller claims the drivetrain is original to the car. |

Sorry Lee, most are reluctant to offer up too much info on the net. The picture 69b posted shows broach marking you want to see. Not to say the other examples are not genuine.

1966 Nova vins
1966 Nova Willow Run and Norwood vin digits were stamped individually. W146344 is a restamp.

I will have to respectfully disagree that Norwood vins were individually stamped.. Willow yes.. For the sake of not showing too many pad photos. I can pm the photo of another example that is 100% legit to those interested.
