67 Z-28
Hello,
I'm new to the forum and was in need of some advise on a price of a 67 Z-28 (not sure if this is the right place) Car is blue/black deluxe interior, original motor, protecto plate, 3.73 driver quality car with 58,000 miles, redone in mid 80's in lacquer paint, original interior and sheet metal as well as trim and vin tags Car is spray bombed every where it shouldn't be on the chassis, original motor rebuilt with 1000 miles on Owner wouldn't let me take pics For sure real motor carb intake heads block as well as the rest of the drivetrain, as are the docs, vin and trim tag (never removed) Car is very original and presentable looking!! Any idea on a fair price????? Thanks in advance for the help |

Re: 67 Z-28
Why wouldn't the owner let you take pictures?
Is he prepared to let you have some expert validate it? |

Re: 67 Z-28
He's an older fellow and not really up to the times as far as the internet, he's heard a lot of story's with people posting vin, pic, etc. from what I understood! (I could respect that)
Non rally sport car, he was open to an inspection, but the car was two hours from me so I just went myself The car is hard for me to get a price because it's a real in betweener although it does have the paper work and real drive train Thanks again any other thoughts would be great |

Re: 67 Z-28
The paper and orig. drivetrain are definitely pluses. Most 67 Z28's are missing original motor by now.
But be careful if some of the original components are missing because they can be very expensive... for example... fan -$1500.. carb-$1000... radiator...$1000...distributor $3000.. cowl plenum...$4000 If all the component parts are there, and it is all original ,Id say sounds like a great car. Good Luck and post some pics if you get it !!! |

Re: 67 Z-28
$55k is fair ....you will always find more to do or needed once you get it home ...especially if you drive it and enjoy it for a few years then decide to knock it apart and restore it. Congrats

I havent seen any 67 Z's with orig. drivetrain,, w paperwork, running, driving and looking presentable w rebuilt motor nonetheless for 55k anywhere. Seems extremely fair for that price. But, maybe I'm out of the loop on the current prices. The thing is most 67 Z's that come up for sale are either totally restored or a complete project. For price and rarity, I do think that they are a real bargain and one of the best deals out there for a Camaro musclecar (along with the 4K cars and the 70 L-78's) Good luck on the purchase |
