How about the 82,000 mile 1988 Blazer for $39,600?

https://www.mecum.com/lots/PG0121-45...let-k5-blazer/

Someone needs their head examined.

1972 Blazer bought $72,600.

Everything seemed to be bringing crazy prices. Why so much more than Kissimmee just a few days ago? Road art was even more ridiculous prices. Lots of currently available repop stuff several hundred percent more than ebay or Amazon and original stuff bringing stupid money. My favorite was the Wayne clock face gas pump for $23,600. I don't understand unless collections of this volume bring some type of celebrity status commanding these prices. For this kind of money I'd sell all my stuff in a heartbeat.

Just for my reference....in terms of this auction, does "matching numbers" mean they are saying original, born-with drivetrain or a re-stamp or anything in between? Seems like many are matching numbers. The 71 LS6 vert 'vette seemed low to me.

I couldn't agree more. I was just telling my Wife this the other day. What we hear is one thing but what I see with my own eyes is another. It sure appears the economy ain't hurting. Like Doug said about building supplies, new home sales and I see stores sure are crowded. People are definitely out spending money. Look at gun and ammo sales. That is off the hook right now and that stuff is not cheap. Plus it seems nobody is working. I've never seen so many people out and about during weekdays. So what is happening? Doesn't appear to be too bad or as bad as you hear.

'

Are the prices being reached not partially funded by the world situation of late and people's realization how short life is = spend $ now and enjoy life w/ family before the whole world spins past the point of no return if not beyond that mark already?

Matching #'s means exactly that and more details/pics necessary to define.
Some guys like restamps and restoration engines or whatever a 'perfect replication' may be but most of us who still prefer Original Engines consider Matching #'s = Restamp parts until proven otherwise.

No it does not mean original born with components. While it could or may be original, the language in the auction contract does not dictate that it is necesarily original to the car.

Most auctions also do not guarantee the sellers claims of originality and or authenticity. Many provide for a period of time, for example, 24 hours for you to inspect the numbers and paperwork. This is why all of this/inspection/research needs done prior to bidding, that is if you care about authenticity.

I thought the 71 Camino was ridiculous at 100k+fees. Look under the hood, where's the brake booster? Among other things.
