Cover is for 1973 and newer, the recess slots on ALL PRE 1973 finned aluminum covers were the same length (short) after 1973 BOTH covers have the longer recess to clear the EGR valve mounted on the pass side.

Thanks James for the schooling. I knew about the different length cut outs but didn’t know the year they changed. I’ll Pm COPO to let him know that the cover is for a L82 not LT-1 and give him the option for a refund. Thanks, Dave

I just realized when I bought that cover. I owned a 73 RS Z28 LT in 84 and sold it in the fall of 87 to buy my 70 Z28. I never got around to replace the cover before I sold it. Dave.

Also, the date stamp cast next to the superseded 14025553 part numbers is 10th month of 1985

That's when GM had the run of covers made.

Original covers had the 3932417 part numbers.
