Default 1970 Red/Black LS-6 4 speed Convertible

An opportunity i will never forget. A friend had this car and offered it to me in the spring of 1973 for $ 2,500 dollars. It needed a new conv. top ( attempted theft ) top cut open by drivers door & it needed new tires. He wanted to get rid of it gas was getting expensive. Short time later it was stolen and burnt. At the time i had a new 1973 Corvette what did i want with a Chevelle hahaha The car had a Jake Kaplan Prov.R I emblem on the trunk i remember

Went shopping for my first new car: Sept. 1972. Lived right across the street from a Pontiac dealership (Framingham, MA) and the Formula Firebird caught my eye. A red/red Formula 455 sitting in the showroom. Had an auto so the wife could drive it.

I was contemplating the purchase because it would be the first time I borrowed money. In my travels along Rte. 9 I came across a car seller who sold used muscle cars and Corvettes. Sitting in his showroom was a brown metalflake 1963 289 Cobra. he wanted $5000 which was a $1000 more than the Firebird. Plus it was a 4 speed. Passed. Just as well as I never would have held onto it to gain the appreciation in value over the years.

Yep - bought the Firebird. Right before gas price went into the stratosphere. Then I began working for Ford Motor Credit Corp. Owning a Pontiac while working for Ford didn't go over well.

Default Thunderbolt

In 1968 a friend of mine said Lewis Jones pulled into his driveway at about daylight one Saturday morning. He had his 64 Thunderbolt on the trailer and said he was needing some cash bad. $1,500.00 for car and trailer.
My friend said he told him to get that piece of junk Ford off his property right now! Wow did Roy make a mistake!!!
Days gone by.

70 440 6 pak Cuda, every option (even leather buckets as I recall), 4psd. Ordered new by Fathers son, went to Nam, never came home. Father held on to it finally put it up for sale. I helped him push it out of the garage, charged battery, gas down the 3 throats fired right up. I have never seen such a loaded original, Cuda since. Begged my Father for a couple grand to buy it, he laughed, and it was gone. Will always remember that one

1976 3 months before I can get my drivers license, 69 L78 Camaro, m21, 373 Posi, needs a flywheel ring gear, perfect green paint, hockey strips, green interior, headers& hemi mufflers,We push started it, that car was rocket.$1200, I asked my father if I could borrow the difference that I was short on which was about $700.He reminds me that he'd been telling me all summer to save money for a car and that there is no way i'm buying a car for over $1000 that has to be push started! It was a good thing because I surely would have killed myself in that car.
