Default 1968 Camaro Z28 48k miles

Presented here, is a car that is no stranger to the site. I purchased this from a forum member along with another car. I have spent the time getting familiar with it, as well as trying to take the car to next level. Below, are the details........

1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. Original matching numbers 302 (MO code), Muncie M21 4 speed, and BV 4.10 positraction 12 bolt rear end. 48,000 original miles.

VIN 12437N472189

Color Code: CC Ermine White

Trim Color Code: 717 Standard Blue Buckets

Production date: 07C July 17th, 1968
Very original car with so many of its original parts, finishes, fasteners, and small little items that are usually lost when a car is disassembled. All original suspension and steering parts with inspection marks still visible. Drivetrain shows no evidence of ever being removed from the car. Great running original car that is well sorted out. Engine makes great power, clutch is smooth on engagement, trans upshifts and downshifts smooth as butter, rear diff is smooth and quiet.

Many other original parts and dated components besides the drivetrain include…

-4053 Holley carb

-Air Cleaner

-Alternator

-Starter

-Distributor

-Radiator with original tag (removed when recored)

-Smog Equipment

-Power brake booster and brake master cylinder

-Muncie shifter (removed with a much better vintage Hurst in it’s place)

-Voltage regulator

-Horn Relay

-T3 headlights

-LOF window glass

-5 “DF” coded 15×6 wheels (with original spare tire dated June 1968)

-Brake rotors and drums

-Rebuilt original 4 piston brake calipers

-Dated jack and associated components

-Fan and fan clutch

-Deep groove engine pulleys
This car still retains some of it’s original paint. Other areas that have been repainted in the correct acrylic lacquer. The right rear quarter panel was replaced in 1970 as a result of a traffic accident with a GM full quarter. The car was undercoated when new and was recently removed to reveal beautiful rust free floors with overspray and primer just as produced in Norwood, OH (original manufacturing plant). Earlier photos of the car reveal a small amount of rust in the right front rocker area (which has been properly repaired and painted by a prior owner). Pictures will also note a small amount of rust at the base of the windshield. The windshield and rear glass have never been removed from the car. Original rust free trunk with original factory applied spatter paint.

Spectacular original bright blue interior. All original seat covers, carpets, door panels, headliner, dash pad, seat belts, etc., etc.. All window regulators operate smoothly up and down. Gauges work and are accurate including the vintage Sun tachometer. All electrical items work just as designed with the exception of the back up lighting (due to removing original shifter with Hurst).

1 of 7199 Z28’s produced in 1968 (as opposed to over 20,000 in 1969). Sold new at Celozzi-Ettleson Chevrolet in Elmhurst, IL. Traded in and resold at Nickey Chevrolet Chicago, IL in 1971. Long term female ownership from 1971-2010. Ownership history details 6 owners since new.

Documented with the following…..

-Reissued Protect-O-Plate from Nickey Chevrolet

-Licensing receipt from Nickey Chevrolet

-Factory build sheet

-NCRS Shippers Report

-Vintage photos

-Ownership history with no gaps

Recently inspected and serviced including….

-Complete brake job with new linings front and rear, rebuilding original front calipers on original dated brake drums and rotors

-Tune up including points, condenser, rotor, spark plugs, spark plug wires (dated originals removed and included in sale), and adjusting valve lash.

-All fluids changed

-New exhaust

-Replaced fuel sending unit (original included with sale)

Offered at $69,500 USD.

That's a great ad Tim. Wish everyone was that transparent when they're selling a car.

I wondered who had bought this car... didn't realize it was you Tim.

Great car in a color combo not often seen on a 68 Z28- GLWS
