Black on Gold '67 L78 Camaro
A few cool '67 L78s coming out of the woodwork this week. Trim tag looks like it may have been off the car at one time...tag itself looks ok...but the car looks pretty far from original.

Wow, a $95k ask, and he only managed a couple of non-descriptive sentences in the description. Guess he figures that car will sell itself?

New seller to. Probably trying to cash in on the current price frenzy.
I don't know, Tony, the top, right corner of trim tag looks different from the Tahoe Turquoise tag. Did they change late in the '67 build for the upcoming '68 models ?? Well, I've tried 3 different ways to paste the pic on here and it always cuts off the upper right corner...

Cool color combination. Seller does not say anything about matching numbers, and no pictures of any stampings, so assumption is that engine is not original. Looking at the picture, I do not see the casting marks on the end of the heads that indicates the rectangular port heads used on the L78.

That car was for sale last year for 45k. It was a guy who restored cars and passed away I spoke to his daughter at the time. NOM as well. I would say it is a clone. So who ever bought it is trying to make a nice payday. Sean

I still think that this is BillD’s old car which was NOM, but a real L78. It’s even in Bill’s State...

Mark is correct. I bought that car around 2007 and owned it for a year or 2. Before buying the car a couple of people here looked at photos of the trim tag and felt it was good. If I remember correctly it had a 68 dated CE block and the heads and intake had dates that were appropriate for the car. Didn't do much to the car other than get rid of the trunk spoiler and reproduction door panels. When I sold the car I kept the wheels and tires that were on it and the buyer provided his own. I do not know the person selling the car. If someone would like more info I would be happy to help via PM or phone. It wasn't a bad looking car with a set of Cragar's on it. I would post a photo but I can't find any.

Cool car, Bill...you have good taste!
This one has been relisted, with a more realistic $35k opening bid and $65k buy-it-now. Link to 1967 Camaro L78 auction |
