'69 Trans Am, Restored in '95, No Reserve Auction
Looks like a good car, currently at $45k with no reserve. Anyone familiar with this one, being sold in Aurora, IL? I'd like to think there might be a deal to be had, but I'm sure it will get bid up pretty aggressively in the final few minutes of the auction.

No reserve. Will never see the end of it.

So somebody educate me. The Z/28 RPO was developed from 67-69 to allow GM to run these cars in Trans Am racing, and the 302 that was part of the package was developed to meet the displacement limit for the class the cars ran in. So why didn't Pontiac develop a small displacement version of the 400 for the Trans Am package? Was the T/A not developed for this class? Just curious.

Here's the (long) story:
http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=7815.0 There's a good 1969 Motor Trend article explaining the 303 engine in detail in post 32
