Default 1965 GTO with HURST Wheels

The Famous HURST Wheels as they were first advertised on a ‘65 GTO pace car used for the ‘65 Riverside 500.

Supposedly the strongest/safest mag style wheel offered in the mid-60’s.

Here is an excellent Original Unrestored set complete with “factory” chrome trim rings, center caps and lug nuts. The H stickers are also Original.
Consecutive serial numbered set.
GM 4.75 bolt pattern.

This set was purchased in 1966, used on a GTO for 4 years and removed.
The original owner applied wax and stored them in burlap bags in the loft above his garage for over 40 years.

I became the owner of this set in 2012.

Chris.

----Very cool! Always liked Hurst wheels. I have wondered in the not too distant past how my 69 Grand Prix would look with a set. Am I right thinking that they only came in a 6 inch width???......Bill S

Correct!

Hurst only built the Dazzler in one size--14 by 6 inches--but offered the wheels in a couple of bolt patterns to fit Fords and Mopars along with GM products.

Default One size

There were bigger plans for this iconic wheel in various sizes, but it fell short and the 14x6 was the only version made.

The steel drum (which held 2 wheels) and a box for 2 “bullet nose” caps have great graphics.

Construction of the HURST wheel offered many options.

The lug area could be a webbed design or non-webbed.
Thick shank or thin shank, which requires the long stem lug nut or the short stem nut.
My wheels above are the thin shank using the short lug nuts.

The finish on the top and sides of the 5 spokes were offered in many styles.
