Default Neiman Marcus Camaro

I searched, and did not see much on this subject, but I am looking for opinions on the limited edition convertible NM edition Camaro.
This is a client of mine, who wants to get one.
Positives, negatives.
Is it going to be collectible?
Should he mothball it? Drive it a little?

Any opinions, would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John

$75,000 for a Camaro Convertible? Sounds like they are charging $30,000 for the trick paint. Less money buys a 2011 Corvette.

That's why they are better known as Needless Markup.

Someone posted that they are already all sold out. Sold in 3 minutes I believe.

You're paying for a name that's not really synonymous with blue collar Chevrolet or the Camaro in any way, shape or form.
He's probably better off waiting and can pick one up for less then 1/2 that selling price,a few years from now when speculators are forced to list them on Autotrader.

Yep, the Neiman Marcus Camaro sold out in just 3 minutes at $75,000 a pop. Personally I think it is a nice looking color combo, is it worth more than another probably but not by that kind of money. I do expect that when the ragtops come out they will be going well above list at most dealers for a while before coming down to the regular prices. A base ragtop is supposed to be around 30k and then add for all those really cool options that everyone will want to order on theirs.

Could the NM Camaros have been bought by NM stores from the corporate office? Are we sure it was the public that bought the cars that quickly?

According to GM the cars were all sold through telephone reservations.

The only one impressed with a NM car would have to be a girl and if its a girl, it better come with the NM credit card too!!
