Default Custome Width Cragars

Looking to order some custom width Cragars for the rear of my car and some skinny Cragars for the font.

First question...is 15x4.5 TOO skinny for the front (day 2 look)especially with factory power steering.

2nd Question - I'm looking at dealing with folks at Newstalgia wheel as they have free shipping when you order 4 wheels. Any opinions? Should I look elsewhere?

Originals were 3 1/2 and newer versions are 4 1/2 inch...Summit has 15x8's $5 bucks cheaper than newstalgia w/ free s/h on ebay...Might get 'em even cheaper cash and carry at a swap meet...

Just cant do the cash and carry on a set of customs without pre-ordering. Want to be able to put 275/60/15s on the back of my Nova so need 15x8 with 5.5" backspacing. Just wanted to make sure Newstalgia was as good or better than Jegs / Summit or "other". I have to ship to the border.

not sure Cragars SS were ever 3.5". I thought they were but got schooled in that department. 15X4 for the Cragar SS wheels I believe. I ran them on the front for years and had no problems with that width.

A couple years back i bought a set of 15x3.5 they were stamped For Drag Racing Only on the inside. Sold them to a guy who put em on a 55 gasser. Last summer i bought a couple of 15x4 and they are not stamped on the inside. You could see the difference and measurement both. I think back in the day Cragar made both widths.

Cragar SS were NEVER made in 15 x3.5.

Always 15x4 up until late 1990's or early 2000 they went to 4.5

Cragar Super Tricks were made in 15 x 3.5

15 x 4 Cragars always had "For Drag Use only" stamped on the rim...

I was told specificaly by a Cragar rep the reason they went to 15 x4.5 was due to the fact guys were running them on the street and 15x4's were just too skinny-(tires rolling off the rim on high speed turns etc, more breakage)-it was all due for legal/liability reasons-even though the 15x4's had stamped for drag use only on them.

so there you go Newman. This case is closed. 15x4's are fine as long as your not trying to run the obstacle course with them.

Thanks much appreciated and if no better options than Newstalgia, I'll go ahead and order on Monday. Looking forward to droppping the 1995 draglite look...they look good on everything but just dont do it for me now.

Stinger hood might be next on the list... we'll see...
