Re: CAROLINA BLUE PAINT CODE?????
The highly optioned Carolina Blue 1969 Camaro Z/28 with the JL-8 was sold through Rapp Chevrolet in Marion, SD. It ended up in Colorado and that may be where the confusion comes in.

Re: CAROLINA BLUE PAINT CODE?????
No confusion on my part. That's the SD in my post.
Denver dealers had their own regional Denver Hugger that was this color.

The 30+ C/B Chevys I knew of in Burlington in 66-68 were a richer blue, but if this is the original paint it could have faded. According to paintref.com no paint code 71 existed for a 1970 Chevy.... </div></div> Yes, it was sold at Alamance Motors in North Carolina.

I was stationed in Norfolk, Va. that year and had my 66 396/375 and got down home to Burlington every month or so. I betting I most likely know the person who bought it new. I still stay in touch with some guys there and if you have the original owners name and they are still around I'll put him onto this site. |

My friend (and previous owner at the time) went down to NC and visited the dealership in person (now converted to a tire shop) and some of the original employees still worked there! They got to talking about the car and making calls... before they knew it, they were talking with the original owner. As I understand it, she really liked her cars. Always had big block Chevelles. She said that she would have raced NASCAR if she hadn't been a woman. She checked off all the options, but couldn't get the LS6 because she checked AC. She also didn't check PS because her previous Chevelle order included that in the SS package. The car has since had PS added. PM me if you want to discuss specifics.

I’m re-posting this photo in this thread because the greedy ****heads at Photobucket decided they should retroactively charge for a service that they originally offered. Photobucket sucks!
