'58 Corvette Project, Sitting Since '75, Rare Factory Power Top
Evidently the power top was a pretty rare bird in '58, with only 1,090 produced. It's also a 'glide car...not for everyone...but still, worthy of restoration.
Looks like a super early car as well...the 594th built if I'm interpreting the VIN correctly. Link to 1958 Corvette auction J58S100594 |

You really have to know what you're doing if you dive into a power top straight axle Corvette.

----We did a full resto on a 59 Vette back in about 1978-9 with the power top option. It took the mechanic 2 weeks (6 to 8 hour days) to get the top functioning correctly. That was after we had restored the frame and installed a new top. Not a job for sissies!!!.....Bill S
