Default '69 BU 12 bolt value

I've got a chance to buy a complete BU Camaro 12 bolt. The price of these things seems to be going out of sight on ebay. What is the real value of a rear end like this?

I've sold a few complete originals in the past 2 years around the $1500-1800 area. Now that's a cash sale and pickup only. I would sit on them for a few months at that price until they sold.

I bought a complete BV housing a couple years ago at $2700 that was super clean, rust free, and had zero pitting.

Since then I have seen many asking as high as $3500 to $4500 for un-restored BU coded diffs and to me that's a bit ridiculous. The ones that sell are normally between $1800 to $2500 depending on condition and how complete they are.

I would agree with Matt, $1500-1800 for a cash sale.

Thanks guys. The guy who has is was going to modify it and stick it under a 3rd gen Camaro with a CE LT1 and a Muncie. I'm trying to save it from this fate, but I don't want to pay too much for it.
