WIW 4.88 gear set, late 68
I have a set of 4.88 gm gears, the ring gear stamped 3862528. dated 12 of 68 I think. They have very few miles, I am guess 3000 at the most.
Any ball park ideas on what I should ask my buddy thats interested? Thank you

4.88
I have a 1968 BX 4.88 rear to go with your gear set if you are interested.

Anywhere from $150-350 depending on condition. Not super desirable for obvious reasons (I have 4.56 GM gears in my Z and they are not fun on the highway)

That would be a 69 part w that date. A 69 4.88 rear is like hen's teeth! If you find someone that needs those gears with that date, they are worth all the $$. But the gears alone for someone else are tough sell.

4.88
The 4.88 rear I have is BX 0929G1. I also have the original glove box door (blue interior) with the 15' tire pressure sticker.

Hi Bill:
I have a similar set of GM 4.88 gears dated 1969. I paid $200. I have one of those odd ball August of 69 cars with rear axle with no assembly code or date (other than the casting date of July 28, 69). Right now I have 4:10 gears. Keeping the 4.88 gears in case I decide to try the drag strip.
