This is a great article detailing how it was done, by those intimately involved. Love the firsthand accounts and the critical details in the making of this iconic car chase real. All done at actual speed, so you felt you were there and driving.....

great read, it was great to see the charger ran rings around the mustang when the cameras were off. I think if you have not actually experienced those SF streets in person, you may not get how crazy they are. I had the pleasure living there for a while and it is truely shocking.

I always wondered how many noticed that the hubcaps on the charger re-attached themselves. Could never figure out the code on the build sheet for that.

They had to - The Charger lost 8 hub caps in the movie.

There is no code for the hub caps:
