VIN was stamped near the date and would start with 19N or 19L for a camaro depending on the plant

Actually a photo of al the stampings would help clear this up.

If that is a partial VIN with 19B39361 stamped on there it isnt from a Camaro.
So it would be nice to see the stampings to confirm.

Didn't stamped Corvette vin numbers leave out the plant code on things like transmissions?

As the owner of a 69 DY Yenko Camaro 4spd that’s missing its original transmission I’m very interested in this thread, but I’m not sure what to make of the stampings shown in the picture. Any expertise anyone can add to help identify the VIN# of this transmission?

Wade; I could not wait to get the car home to see the vin number on the trans as I knew it was out of a Yenko. I thought it was going to be easy, but I guess not! Someone knows what it is, we just need for that person to see it here..

Does anyone have a picture of where the stamp would be on top of the trans case, if in fact they stamped one there?

the Vin IS Chevelle from Baltimore, the 8 was used many times as a B. the assembly date is early June 1969 and the vin fits perfectly at 06C. I do have one vin that matches other than the last number, i'll send a message to the person I have listed as the owner and see if their chevelle was a four speed and if they have the original one. thanks for posting the pic. Andy

looked up the chevelle i mentioned it is an auto trans, after blowing up the image it looks like there is a faint 6 at the end of the vin. I added it in case that is the vin and any info comes up in the future. take care
