Default Big Block (COPO) Carburetor return spring

I have purchased a few of these springs. They're weak and won't put it back to idle. I've shortened them and still have the same problem. I can't imagine others haven't experienced the same issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Along for the ride, I have the same issue with this spring.

I experienced the same issue. What options are out there?

I would have thought that a 427 would have had 2 springs on the carb … I guess it probably didn’t matter much because in Nhra & most drag racing have a rule 2 return springs on the carb …

I ended up extending the two springs and interlaced them together. That arrangement worked.
