What's a "numbers matching engine" on a 68 Camaro 427? Is this one of the rumored 68 COPO 9561s?

Its an automatic, I thought all 68's were 4-speed. Be interesting to see that POP, if it were real wouldnt you think he would show that for maximum bid results along with all the other numbers, I would...

What's the information on the P-O-P? Also, Yenko wouldn't have done anything with an LA built car, would they?

were there any white cars sold? Also, when I talked to Tim about this car, he indicated that he thought the car was sold through Colonial Chev. Isn't that in VA.

Just talked to Tims dad, he said they are changing the ad and putting in more photos...Also said that tim drove the car from Wisconson to south florida a couple weeks ago (long trip for a car like this!)..they just recently got this car. I got him to check out Kevin Suydams site and he said the original hood is like the 68 Dana Hood...Also said Motor has original Aluminum heads (L-88???)and the original color is white..I would definatly want to see this car in person before i popped in a 50-80K bid. With all this snow, a trip to Florida doesnt sound to bad

Here is a link to the only known 68 copo
http://groups.msn.com/CaMaRoChiC/196...opocamaro.msnw
Also L-72's have iron heads so a copo car would not come with aluminum heads as tims dad said came on the car from the factory, correct?

I find it hard to believe they built an LA 427 car that early in the production year for 68. Almost all the 69 COPO's were Norwood cars. You would need to see the P-O-P and window sticker to see if it looks like they are original and legitimate.
