'68-69 Camaro Floor Mats - Original or Not?
I was interested in these for my '68 Z - but wasn't sure if they were original. They almost look too nice. Anyone know for certain?

To me, those look like the extra wide accessory floor mats that Chevy offered through the parts department that somebody hand trimmed.

From here they look authentic.
Todays reproductions are thick & hard compared to the thinner assembly line originals. And have less definition then 50 years ago. Those look curled, repros can't do that very well, and would take decades to achieve. |

Just bought a set of reproductions for my 69 RS Camaro from Classic Industries for $169. There pretty good quality however I have my car tucked away in a bag so I'll have to wait until spring to see how they fit. Those look like there in good condition just curious how much were they?

These are already up to $255 - evidently there are other folks who think they are originals, too....

They look to be original mats from the era but not for Camaro. They have been hand cut from a larger size down to something narrower to fit a Camaro. That edge is obviously hand cut and not how the factory edges were. They are not cut to the same overall shape as the originals for Camaro either.

Good observations, Jon.
These sold for $770 if you can believe that. |
