There would be date codes on the tires. Also, the originals would not be marked TWI ( Tire Wear Indicator ) on the sidewall near the tread. And on the back side of the repros I believe would be a safety warning

It's true. 45 years of rubber.....Does anyone know? Yes... a handful of people. But 95% or greater don't or won't know when looking at it which is to say, if you're looking at buying such a tire., there's your answer above. But if trying to decide if it's worth the increased cost to buy one..... Short of bragging rights .... Ummmmm probably depends on the car needed for. Obviously., a survivor car might be cool to have it for. One not being driven and just shown.

With-in the NCRS the manual states that Original Firestone Wide Ovals have 9 bands or ribs and reproduction Wide Ovals have 7.
Both Original and Reproduction GoodYear have 9.

The Firestone Wide Ovals with 7 ribs / 7 tread bands loose 30% for non OEM configuration.
