Here is another 427 Kingswood rotting away in Texas along with a 67 and 68 SS427 Impala. Unfortunately he watches too many BJ and Mecum auctions so we are negotiation but no likely going to happen.

In 1970 my parents traded their Highland Green 68 Mustang GT in on a Fathom Green 69 Kingswood Estate wagon with a 335hp 427/TH400 and wood grain trim, Mom called her Betsy. Dad said it was so heavy it wouldn't break the tire loose from a dead stop unless you were turning a corner to got the weight transferred off the right rear. By 1977, with close to 100k on it, nobody wanted the old gas hog so Dad sold it to the local salvage yard for $50 after he bought a new Buick Skylark. I'd love to have a car like that now to just cruise around in.

About 20 years ago I was at the Floyd Garrett Musclecar Museum in Pigeon Forge, and there was a virtual twin to this car - white with wood grain, hideaways, but this one had the L72 427 in it. It was like Clark Griswold on steroids. Neat car.

The one that Floyd had was an Ohio car that had a pretty extensive drag strip history in the Buckeye State. That car I think is now in the GM Heritage Center on display.
