Case #8 is for Kasey, all Stinger stuff.

A couple of items of interest here, the blue book holds the original paperwork where they registered the Stinger trademark, an Don's Corvair shop manuel, which has the serial number of Don's 1965 Corvair. Hum...

One of the more interesting, and rare pieces, a Switzer turbo unit for a Vega, unit #001.

The wooden crate from Yenko with original documents from the dealership. Corvair, Camaro (all years), Vega, Chevelle and Novas, as well as on the L-88, a Westlake engine program Don was working on and other papers. With the info contained in these folders, plus what several "friends of the sYc" have shared with me, is the reason the lists of VINs and other inforamtion is as complete, as available as it is.

That's it, I'm electing you...next year you're doing the memorabilia display at SCR. Definitely some neat items there.. might have to start collecting that sorta stuff myself...

In all seriousness though, its great that stuff is able to be displayed like that, so it can be viewed and enjoyed any time you want. There's stuff I have that I don't even see myself except for once a year at SCR's. Great space you got there. Yeah, I'm jealous.

Friday, Feb. 21, 1969. I think it was similar to what later became known as an IROC race.

Don Yenko was the winner as well as won the pole in what was reported as a 1969 Camaro. It has been debated that in fact it may have been a '68. Also in the race were Lloyd Ruby, Joie Chitwood, Rusty Jowett and Larry Wallace in '68 Camaros, Parnelli Jones in a '69 Mustang and Don White in a '69 Javelin. 37 cars in all, avg. sppeed on the 3.81 mile track was 104.036.
