I've tried to send the guy on SNS a few private messages and haven't heard back yet. Was also wondering how to tell the difference between reproduction and NOS parts on these moldings?

Default rocker moldings..

Joe...I cleaned them up a little...pretty dirty...they need a good bath.

About 50% of the black paint between the ridges is still intact. With a little elbow grease and polishing these could be very presentable. Once they are cleaned it wouldn't take much to touch up the black paint...either tape off the shiny parts and spray, or use a fine brush and run a line of paint between each ridge...I think that hand painting would be easier and faster.

Send me an email at [email protected] and I wills end the photos...they are a little too large to post here.

Hey guys, just an update on the molding "saga". I decided to let a friend who is building a '70 Nova go ahead and buy those moldings that were for sale on Steve's Nova site. He had also just ordered a set of reproduction moldings and I was curious as to how they would compare with the NOS ones. I went to his house a few days ago to check them out. First of all, the NOS ones were not quite as represented!! He received two of the long moldings for the driver's side instead of one for each side. And the shorter ones were not for a Nova at all!! As far as the reproductions were concerned, I was impressed with how well they matched my moldings (which I had taken along to compare them with)!! I guess this reinforces the old saying of "buyer beware"......or at least, "buyer ask the right questions"????

Hi Markyodb2, thanks for the heads-up but I decided to have my originals fixed after all of this! The price of that one does look good but after what happened to my friend, I'm staying away from stuff that "looks to good to be true"!! "Coincidence" that this one is coming from the same part of the country too??!
