Default Engine rebuild question

I'm rebuilding the 4.6L in my sons 02 Mustang GT that I just got him. I wanted to hot tank the block, crank etc., but the rebuilder I called said he uses a hot pressure wash. Do you think that will do the trick? It's only $75, so I'm thinking it's worth a try. Here's what I'm dealing with... Previous owner wasn't exactly keeping up on oil changes apparently.
Do you think 180 degree pressure washer and degreasing chemicals will cut this burnt on oil and be able to clean out the oil passages well?

Dave -- I guess I am too "old school" ... I prefer the hot tank and with a cast iron block I try to talk the machine shop to leave it in the tank as long as possible. TAZ

I'm the same way, but my understanding is that there aren't many actual hot tanks left thanks to the EPA regs. Most have gone to tumblers I guess.

Dave -- I just noticed something. I wonder why your replies indicate your name and "Senior Member" in blue and mine are yellow and indicate "Yenko Paid Member" TAZ
