</div></div> Yeah, that's pretty interesting considering the info Mike posted also shows burgundy/red to be a factory recommended color. Looking forward to seeing the paperwork! |

Re: My 1967 Firebird 400
<span style="font-family: 'Georgia'">That's a beautiful car! I ordered my '67 Firebird 400 when I was 19 and still have it (just shy of 48 years). I drove mine in the street for about a year and drag raced it on weekends. Eventually I got to the point where I flat towed to the races and stopped driving it on the street. I think I have about 10,000 miles and it was driven in the rain maybe two or three times and never saw snow/salt. I got into motorcycles in '71 and the car has been in storage ever since. I'm in the process of returning it to stock and your photos will be a big help for me under the hood as I made lots of changes and forgot how things should look. Mine is black w/ the deluxe black interior, 400 converted to Ram Air, close ratio 4-speed w/ 4:33 gears. Non-power disc brakes and manual steering. Anyway - I really enjoyed seeing your car.

Re: My 1967 Firebird 400
The early firebirds are nice cars. I had a 68 firebird 400 HO back in 1969 with a M-21, 3.90 gears that was red with a black vinyl top and black deluxe interior. Looking at your car sure brings back some nice memories of that car.
You have a beautiful car and you should be very proud of it. I have enjoyed the entire thread.

Re: My 1967 Firebird 400
I love them first gen birds... under priced and underated I think !!
Ive had a bunch of old firebirds over the years ...unfortunately, mostly cars that I parted out including a Ram Air 69 coupe...a driving 69 vert..hugger orange, white gut and white top..an all original muncie 4 speed car too...I still have the plastic protecto-plate for that car !! Hated to part it out, but it was a NE car that spent a lot of time near the beach...it looked like a spaghetti strainer underneath!!..also had a bunch of others I drove including a 67 coupe that had an L-88 4 speed...what a monster !! I definitly like the 69's way better than the 67-8's...never liked that full bumper look.. Re: My 1967 Firebird 400
Some are underpriced, but collectors began scooping these up around 10 years ago, and prices have climbed. Nicely restored 1969 Firebird 400 hardtops are now in the $35K+ range, ragtops in the $40K-$90K range. Real Ram Air cars rarely change hands. 1969 Trans Am's fetch around $80K, with RAIV versions $100K+.
1969 Firebird RAIV convertibles are extremely rare, and the only one sold in recent years went for $286,000. More info on these rare cars are here: http://www.musclecarfilms.com/1969Po...vertibles.html I'm a bit of a fan of the 1969's myself.

Cool history. That is exactly the same back story with our '65 GTO (in storage since '74 with 4900 miles). Nice to hear there are others like this out there. K
