I think there are numbers under the paint after the 332

My thoughts exactly. It would be a heck of a coincidence to have those three numbers in sequence on an incorrect block.

The seller sent me a better pic of the pad with the paint removed...looks good.

I like it. I would never separate a matching car, but if it was NOM I'd lose the later steering wheel and ralleys in favor of big/little Cragars and swap in a Day 2 L88. The rear quarter rust would be covered by traction compound after heating the tires a few times.

Nice little car bu I'm not sold on the pad stamp. Date stamp looks good but if you compare the aging of the date stamps with those of the VIN, the VIN numbers sure appear to be crisp and clean. Like they were stamped recently?
