Question Rag Joint Restoration

Getting close to completing my frame off on my '70 W-31 and would like to restore the original rag joint. Is there a way to remove the two "pins" (rivets?). I've seen rebuild kits available that include the new pins. I want to get the piece secured by the pins re-phosphated, but I'm not sure how to remove it, and if I do figure that out, how I reattach everything. Appreciate the insight. Thanks

I will send you a PM.

For whatever reason I don't have the ability to upload an image through my posts. I wonder if it has to do with my post count.

I am following along. I restored my rag joint but I am not happy with it.

I will redo it one day or buy an NOS one....

I don't know if yours is the same design as mine, but in my case I did not remove the riveted pins when I restored mine. Wanted to, but it looked to me like a "permanent" assembly.

Anybody have any good reference photos?
Is a correctly restored one the same as NOS?
