There have been a number of "good buy" 1969 ZL1 Camaro clones over the last 5 years at Mecum auctions. I can remember a Red/Red one a few years ago . . . had an brand new Anniversary ZL1 in it with a 4 speed. All the goodies: 4 row rad, PFDB, PS, 12 bolt 4.10 posi rear and it sold for less than $40,000.

Yes seems like more then a couple "buys/good deals" went through that auction.
The ones I posted was more for DRIVER cars. One like you could buy and give to your wife to drive to work and such.

It appeared to me that for the most part there was some good buys at this auction. As always there is exceptions here and there on the high side that we just shake our heads in disbelief over but generally it looked like a buyers market to me.

Did it feel rushed to anyone there? I have a friend who tried to buy F190 (65 Galaxie XL 4sp survivor) via phone and they hammered it at $32k before his verbally accepted bid could be relayed to the auctioneer. (I just watched the video on Youtube, there's a slight pause before the hammer, but not much) He's really disappointed in how it went down and I'd have to assume it really cost the consignor as well, as I know my friend was willing to stay in the hunt for another $5-10k to add that particular car to his collection. I know auctions are imperfect, but letting anxious bidders spend their money is their core goal, and when that fails...
