Camaro / Nova Dash Housing ID?
Picked this up yesterday. The 4th picture has the hand written part # that comes back to 69 -75 Nova without A/C. The 5th picture shows the part # tag that was barely hanging on when I got it and now it's off. You can see where is was stuck. The part # comes back as a Corvette steering column cover so that makes no sense.
Is there any difference in the Nova and Camaro dash housing? Repop or GM? Any way to tell? |

I answered one of my own questions. No right side vent so it's not Camaro.

The Camaro plastic housing has 4 screws that go in straight, or horizontal to hold the top and the Nova has these screws going up, or vertical. Yours looks like the flange is made for the screws to go up. Also the Camaro plastic housing wraps around the edge next to the ash tray and there are holes for it to fasten next to the ash tray. The Nova plastic does not wrap around, so no holes next to the ash tray.

Still useful for repairing a rusty dash on a '69 Camaro. The repro top sticks out like a sore thumb due to the poorly formed VIN tag mounting. Also, it's an early Nova piece due to the rectangular speaker grille. Later units had an oval grille which has to be corrected for a Camaro.

1665463 as stated is correct for early Nova without A/C. It would be a shame to have this cut up to repair a Camaro dash since it is the early style.
