Default Cash For Clunkers

Seeing as they are required to crush all candidates regardless of their condition,I can't wonder what future collectible cars AND parts are now that much more difficult to find from 1984 & up.Some may argue nothing made form 1984 up is collectible anyway, but I disagree.
I understand the initial idea behind it,but wouldn't you think there's some very useful parts attached to some of those vehicles they have to crush as a whole?
Parts like working engines-(made inoperable),seats,steering columns,window glass,transmissions,wheels,doors,hoods & rearends..all crushed & scraped.
Already in effect for 4 days,it's completely depleted and no longer offered..So far no plans have been made to extend or increase the funding, the Govt. said this AM.
Maybe that's a blessing for future collectibles..
Thoughts?
