Default Heater Delete Documentation

Does anyone have an original window sticker or invoice showing the heater delete option on an A or F body from the factory in 1969? I would be interested in getting a copy of this if possible. Thanks. Jim

I think the only way you could get the heater delete option was on an export vehicle. Mark

I had been told that you could get this option on a car bound for Hawaii. Is this considered export?

Heater delete was definitely availible in Hawaii after 68. I believe Alaska and Hawaii were both considered export. Although I can't imagine anyone not wanted a heater in Alaska.

Some came here as heater delete some got changed over at the dealerships. I know some guys that have 69's and a few of them have Build sheets so I sent out a mass mailing to all the Club members here in search of a Buildsheet or window sticker that would show it listed as an option. I also know the PI cars got the delete as well and have a few friends that are looking at paperwork from those cars along with trying to find one that can be brought back to the US.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully somebody can find a build sheet or window sticker to share with us. I need to find at least 1 69 car built with heater delete as a factory not dealer installed option. When my GTO is finished it will be shown in the stock class at the Pontiac-Oakland Club Convention. Only factory installed options are allowed. Some friends have already been moved from stock to modified class due to having dealer installed options. Documentation showing factory availability would prevent any problems from coming up. Thanks. Jim

If your car was shipped to the continental US, it had a heater. Period.
Yes, some 69's had heater deletes, but none in the lower 48 (due to federal defroster regulations). Remember, even L88's had heaters in 69.
No question in my mind, your car ain't stock w/o a heater.

I don't know if this helps or not, but ....

Here's a shot of a 1968 Hurst Olds IBM punch card. I *think* the code is C48 for the Export heater delete.
