The 427 engine was not allowed under a 1971 rule change so Bob put a 350 in the car and sold the 427 from #33. It was put in a 1970 Camaro that ran in a different class.

No. For 68 and earlier, it was just an RPO.
By 69, they were clamping down on the axle ratios, probably due to warranty costs. Ordering a 4.56 or 4.88 in a 69 Nova or Camaro required a COPO.

Has the block been decked? By 1969 any service replacement block should have a "CE" stamp up top....

I have 108 VIN's. 29 of those are from orphaned blocks or orphaned docs, with the cars either confirmed dead and gone, or MIA / whereabouts unknown.

So that is 79 known "cars" wearing original...
