Black 69 Z on BAT
Would like to hear from Kurt S and Jonesy on the trim tag.
I can tell the old ones (pre 2007) from TrimTags.com, but not so good on the newer ones. What do you guys think? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...maro-z-28-157/ I know there are a lot of things wrong. Engine is too late for a 01A car. Rear stripes are closer to 68 spacing than 69. Not likely a ducted hood car originally, etc. |
Badly pitted rear axle and undercarriage. Has seen a lot of salt I would guess. But it will probably still sell on that site for $120K or more. :smirk:
|
That car has been flagged as a fake and the owner will not accept what Kurt has told him, fake trim tag....
|
|
I have seen this tag before and that is a reproduction tag.
|
Other issues
White headliner and white sunshades were never on a 69 Camaro Short window crank handles In back. Crank handle knobs should be clear Wood grain dash not available with standard interior Ugly repop Headrest covers |
So much wrong with this Camaro.
Reproduction tag. |
VIN 124379N570274 for future reference
|
Interesting the seller didnt post the block stamp pictures that are on camaros.net. Not sure there is any original parts on the car with the restamp block, fake tag and 5 leaf springs.

Actually one pic is when the repop tag was first put on and not painted, then the second pic of the same tag painted and sanded.
|
Seller just posted a nonsense explanation of the discrepancies. He is a dealer, not the owner. Not sure if he is aware the owner knows of the challenges. Bid is only at $50k.
|
That car is a train wreck.
|
Sellers experts saying that tag is real is a joke. Another guy wanted to comment about the block being possible and using the color as a hold up. With that tag we have no idea what color that car originally was. You did a good job in the discussion Lynn
|
The BaT discussion regarding this car is kinda like arguing about whether or not a female impersonator has breast implants.

Bid to 67500.00. Maybe people are catching on! Highly unlikely

Yeah, this black clone got called out heavily and it definitely kept it in clone price range but a dusk blue 69Z VIN 124379N633240 without any original drive train at all sold a couple of weeks ago on Bat for $111,969 https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...maro-z-28-167/ So I wouldn't count to much on anything changing on that site from the sellers or buyers.
And to think that same buyer could have a had an original lemans blue, real deal, beautiful, survivor from right here on Yenko.net. for the same money! https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?t=176167 These Bat buyers do no research or homework at all!! |

If you read the threads on the camaro sites, you know the owner is aware of the issues.

One more issue to consider on this Clone RSZ28
The Reverse lights in the lower rear valance are not correctly positioned. So definately added. Even if it was an original RS and they replaced the panel, you would have a template to know where to locate. 1st pic Original RS reverse lights 2nd pic Black subject clone RS Z28 reverse lights - too far inboard.:haha: |
The new ad is pretty crafty - very non-committal in language and doesn't make any suggestion the car is real or original. I wonder how long this cycle will go on for. If it was just represented for what it is (a clone), it'd really save everyone some trouble.

Just saw this one listed on eBay for $120k:

Already dropped it to $105,900. :haha:
