Thermostat Housing Identification

Can anyone identify this thermostat housing. The number 60536065 is stamped on the underside.

Lee, that is what I was thinking. Going through GM part numbers I can't find anything that matches. Maybe the number on the thermostat housing is a casting or stamping number. Does this housing look familiar to anyone else?

Not sure, but that may be an aftermarket replacement for the 660 style aluminum housing. I have seen some other cast iron ones in non-GM aftermarket boxes with similar long casting numbers.

That one probably came from EVERCO or EVERHOT, an aftermarket supplier for all things that break or wear out in the heater and air conditioning systems in a normal car. They work, but they sure are heavy, and not to mention, ugggly.

John, you sure hit the nail on the head when you said heavy.
