Casting date location on 69 435 vette intake manifold?
 

Where is the casting date located on a 69 vette 435 intake manifold? Is it under the bottom shield? Appreciate and help. The carburetors have a 69 date.

I believe it is located under the metal shield on the underside, pry up the push in rivets with a V shaped panel remover and a hammer to see it. You will not believe the caked on Crud underneath the shield and manifold. Good luck. Bill

As stated above, it is under the splash/heat shield on the underside. Attached are a couple pictures as an example.

I have had good luck removing the splash pan rivets using a thin bladed screwdriver placed between the manifold and the shield. Place the screwdriver where it is just far enough off center from the rivet that it doesn't run into the rivet when tapping the screwdriver in. That ramps the rivet out with minimal damage. I normally reuse the rivets without needing anything in the holes.

I’ve removed the rivets using vise grips with duct tape.
