Default 1976 Dealer Parts Counter....What was available?

Hi. I have a 1976 Chevy Nova, (yeah I know that hardly anybody likes them, but I do and thats all that counts ), anyway, Im restoring it and I want to do something very different. I'd like to do it as an SS clone but I want it to seem as though the dealer tuned it.

theoreticly, could one go to the chevy parts counter in 1976 and order the following succsessfully:

a ZL1 bare block,
L88 heads,
M22 Muncie 4 speed gearbox,

These are the building block of which id like to base my project. If anyone can help, it would be appriciated.

Thanks in advance,
Kevin
