Found this inside the rear seat of a Nova along with the paper cup hooked in a hog ring. All we knew was it was a 396 4 speed car. Still has the original 12 bolt and M20 in it with the vin. The motor is long gone. Any idea of the value for it as a runner. Has a 66 396 961 casting in it now. Looks like drivers quarter was replaced but all else is original paint. There is zero rust in trunk or floors just a little in rear window. Larry. 520-349-2337

Here is a photo from on top of the gas tank. Pulled it to clean it out. Has 396 in crayon on it. Never seen that before. Larry

It was probably marked because of the sending unit difference.

Cool car...nice find on the Fisher Body sheet and the GM paper cup!
**fyi: the M20 listed on the build sheet does not always mean the trans is an M20...it was simply a code to tell the Fisher Body guys to cut a hole for the floor shift. The trans should have a date stamp and a letter code following the stamp [A=M20, B=M21, C=M22]. 1969 was the only year the L78 code was listed on the build sheet... I see the interior trim is 731...is the rubber floor covering still intact? wilma
