Another Flowmaster hater here. "Turbo" style mufflers are better all around IMO. Magnaflow, Dynomax, etc.

I really like the fit of the Flowmaster American Thunder system. I also like the exterior sound and in fact changed the mufflers to the slim line 50 series to attenuate the resonance/drone inside the car. Its better but not to my satisfaction. I may switch out the mufflers to those mentioned above. BTW I get comments all the time how awesome the car sounds from the outside. Again even with 50 series its still annoying on the inside. My fix is to turn up the volume on the factory 8 track and take in the hi fidelity sounds of the 8track and drown out the drone .

Steve,
I tried the same, but those damn Norwood Assembly Line folks decided not to put a radio in the Yellow Car! (snik-snik)

I usually run a Flowmaster crossover muffler with 2.5 exhaust and I wanted to try the Pypes crossover system in the future but I would hate to change over this complete exhaust system just because I need a different mufflers. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Hopefully we can get our cars together sometime soon. Have you ever been in my car? I've got the Flowmaster crossflow you referred to but I've got an x-pipe that makes it sound really different. I don't think it's too loud but, then again, I'm deaf!! Take care and let's do the Donut Shop or Cars &amp; Coffee.</span></span>

Well I took Sammy's recommendation and tossed the Flowmaster mufflers and replaced them with Dynomax Super Turbo's, and wow what a difference. No drone, sounds healthy at idle and come alive when you get on it. Just a pleasure to drive now...

I have a set of Pypes Race Pro's going on my 69 Road Runner this weekend. I'll have feedback on their sound.
