Wrong crank....
All Hi Perf. L79's Had a Steel Crank. Regardless of small journal or large journal. The Engine is identical to a Corvette L79 sans the bolt ons......alt., dist , carb and ram horns.etc.

IMHO 68's had a large journal cast crank..My 0702 L-30 has one and it is one of the last. In fact, some were not even drilled for a balancer bolt. Mine was not... I don't believe many of the 68's were "Steel" both L-30 and L-79...It's a very different animal from the 67's ...

I know when I had the 68 L79 motor built the machine shop said it was a large journal steel crank and very very hard to find. Mine cleaned up fine thank god.
